Success for the Winnock Hotel at National Tourism Awards
The Winnock Hotel has been voted the Accommodation Provider – Independent Hotels of the year at the Coach Tourism Awards, held in Stratford-upon-Avon. The national awards scheme, organised by trade magazine Coach Monthly, and hosted by television presenter and travel & tourism expert Judith Chalmers, recognises excellence across the tourism industry and includes industry suppliers, coach tour operators, tourist destinations and attractions.
The award for Accommodation Provider – Independent Hotels recognises an independent hotel that demonstrates a commitment to welcoming coaches, coach groups and drivers. In presenting the award Judith Chalmers made particular comment about the excellent themed breaks and packages marketed by the hotel and the excellent website.
David Warnes and his management team at the Winnock Hotel collected the award in front of more than 360 tourism professionals. Commenting on the hotel’s success David Fletcher, the general manager, says “The Winnock Hotel has always shown a commitment to addressing the needs of the groups market, but in recent years client expectations have risen dramatically, and hotels need to show an even greater special commitment to addressing the needs of clients arriving on coaches. The commitment to achieving excellence has been shown from each and every member of staff at the hotel, and the contribution each and every one of them has made in achieving this award should not be underestimated.”
David Warnes, the managing director, added his special thanks to local visitor attractions, such as Glengoyne Distillery, Loch Katrine Steam Ship, and Falkirk Wheel, in helping to package holiday itineraries to the coach operators. He also would like to thank all his coach operators for voting for the Winnock Hotel.
“These are the only national awards that focus specifically on the coach tourism community”, says the editor of Coach Monthly, Stuart Reader. “The Winnock Hotel and other industry suppliers play a key role in delivering a high quality of service to coach operators across the UK. The Winnock Hotel was up against leading names in the sector, so this is therefore a well deserved and a significant achievement. Our winners are at the forefront in delivering excellence across all sectors of the industry, helping to raise the quality of customer service and quality across coach operators, destinations, visitor attractions and accommodation providers.”
